Two-fer GM at Homewood and Alpine

Homewood Mountain Resort GM Kent Hoopingarner will pull double duty as Alpine Meadows' GM effective immediately.
Outgoing Alpine GM Jim Kercher recently took a job at Vail Resorts' Beaver Creek, officials said.
Prior to joining Alpine in Aug. '07, Kercher was Beaver Creek's guest services director.
“We appreciate and applaud all the improvements and accomplishments Jim Kercher has brought to Alpine during the past two years,” said Art Chapman, President of JMA Ventures — parent company of Alpine and Homewood. “On behalf of everyone at Alpine Meadows, Homewood and JMA Ventures, we wish him the best.”
Over the past two years, Kercher and Hoopingarner hired a single management team to oversee both resorts.
"The public can continue to look forward to new improvements at Alpine and the implementation of the Homewood Master Plan,” Chapman said.
The Homewood Master Plan calls for redevelopment of the 1,200-acre resort with a 60-room hotel, 40 condos plus retail, underground parking and a new lodge, restaurant and spa.
The plan is currently making its way through TRPA's permitting process.
"It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Jim Kercher," said Hoopingarner. “Equally so, I’m thrilled at the opportunity to be involved with both Homewood and Alpine Meadows. ...The team will continue to move forward with current plans for improvement as well as continued partnerships between the resorts."
