Basin Bargain Basement - Rollin' in my Six-Fo'

By Andrew Pridgen -

Every Thursday, Tahoeticker features a basin property on the market that has caught the attention of local realtoratti with its rock-bottom price.

Click here for last week's BBB.

This week: Don't touch it – it's perfect in Tahoma.

Where: Tahoma (exactly halfway btw. Homewood and Meeks Bay...on the border of Sugar Pine State Park... oh, and there's a lake somewhere 'round there too).

Description: So check it. This one caught our eye for two reasons: 1) It's $328k — neighborhood comps are still round low-mid $7s. ...Oh, and this one was built in the mid-60s and guess what?! The wood paneling. The brick fireplace. The dark-as-sin fixtures ...they're all intact.

...This like finding a $20 in a jeans pocket. Pleasant, pleasant — untouched surprise.

Oh, and the house: Those who frequented the set of Wayne's World will feel right at home. Two bedroom, two bat. You got the deck that never gets sun (yeah, the snow's still melting off it). BTW, be sure to negotiate down on this one, it is in the 'dark side' ...of the West Shore.

That's all right — someday, a fire will make it all go away.

Price: $329,000 (about $180 per square foot). Cheap, but you can talk 'em down. $280k will take it. Yep, that's about a quarter what everyone else on your street paid three years ago.

Hmm: Bordered by conservancy parcel on the south. This is HUGE. Ain't nobody building around this puppy — trail access instant and this house is classic.

Also:
South facing rear of house gets sun exposure... (illegal deck/hottub build anyone?!).

Size: 1,000'

Built: 1964 (ergo, the headline ...vintage). See if you can get 'em to throw in the kitchen set with the place.
