Basin Bargain Basement - Last-minute shopping in The Grid

Where: 8794 Trout Avenue KB (The Grid) ...and yes, we're hoping for roundabouts too (buy this property and so should you).
Price: (Ready... no, really — ready?!) $135k. Not a condo. Not a tear down. UNREAL. HO HO HO.
Estimated monthly payment: $500 (what're you paying for rent again?!)
Yikes: We can't believe it either. No can we find an excuse to not buy it. Unless, of course, Tom Turner were to ...say... buy up all neighboring properties and turn them into a giant walk-in for his dystopian culinary destinations... but, barring that — it's all yours. A block to the beach, three blocks from trails — the satisfaction of knowing you bought a home in KB for a quarter of its value in '07. DO IT.
Oh ...and: Don't become a slumlord. We know, it's tempting to rent out to Gaper Family on the weekend, or, better still, some newlygrads from Vt. ...but what KB needs now is nice people. Full-timers. Folks who care. You know, this is your shot to stay in the Basin.
Also: We sorta love the original sink. Call us sentimental.
Meh: Well, it is listed by Scott properties, and like Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell, Vince Scott's name ain't the best in Tahoe Real estate... but, then again, commission on $110k is zilch — so, last laugh is yours.
Bottom line: It's a miracle on Trout ave. Put a big red bow over this 632-square-foot (built in '47) post-war beauty and simply enjoy a little old North Shore charm for an old North Shore price.
